Wireless doorbell

by Mark Rowe

Y3K Europe recently launched SmartBell, a wireless doorbell. An installer can position the weatherproof wireless camera unit next to an entrance so that the camera can view anyone who calls at the premises. Power up with the power supply in the box, connect to your WiFi or Wired Network and it’s ready.

Users can download the Smart-I Bell App to a smartphone or tablet that will alert them to the presence of a visitor. Once installed a user can remotely see and speak to callers, from anywhere, or open your door if an electronic lock is fitted. The iOS/Android compatible app also allows various camera and security settings to be adjusted and lets the user take snapshot views or manually start recording of video images. Both can be retrieved using the date/search function.

If the unit is tampered with it will sound an alarm to alert you. With built-in LEDs the camera will activate automatically when used in low light. The product is fitted with on-board PIRs that detect motion and trigger recording when an object is within its’ range. The app allows you to toggle the video recording time between ten, 30 and 60 seconds.

Also Y3K offer an internal wireless ringer that acts as a sounder, so you can be alerted to visitors if you are away from your app device.

The doorbell and app offers the distributor says a customisable doorbell system, for use in almost any domestic or commercial application. SmartBell is part of the range of SmartHome products available nationwide through Y3K distributors including more than 90 branches of electrical supplies distributor WF Senate.
