Luminite Electronics, manufacturer of EasySwitch wireless transmitters, passive infra-red detectors (PIRs) and receivers, has launched an external PIR detector aimed at the CCTV and alarm market.
The ESD30, a battery powered wireless PIR detector, can transmit to any EasySwitch receiver over a range of up to 500 metres (line of sight) to form part of lighting or alarm. The detection area is 30m out and 20m across and the internal optics can be adjusted so that the unit does not have to be mounted facing the area to be covered. The unit can be adjusted for pet immunity to reduce false alarms, the makers add.
When the PIR is activated a high power red LED light will glow giving an added layer of security to deter intruders. The detector can be powered by four AA batteries or one 9v PP3, providing up to four years battery life, the UK firm adds.
EasySwitch comprises a range of wireless switching products for the home and business and is made up of external PIR detectors, wall switch transmitters, receivers and key fobs. You can mix and match products for scenarios.
