SpotCam became the 500th company to join the Secured by Design (SBD) membership scheme in July 2016. Guy Ferguson, SBD’s General Manager, presented the membership certificate to Lee Fairbrother, Managing Director of SpotCam.

Briefly, SpotCam offers cloud-based cameras. A user can connect a SpotCam to WiFi and apply for an account on MySpotCam.com. The product is set up with PC, laptop. mobile phone or tablet. You store video and review video footage as long as 30 days after it happens, on the cloud server.

Name change

The national police project Secured by Design has been owned and operated by ACPO Crime Prevention Initiatives since 1999, when it was set up as a not-for-profit, police owned company. With the closure of the Association of Chief Police Officers SBD is now owned by the London Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) on behalf of UK police and will draw directors from several police forces. With this comes a change of name to Police Crime Prevention Initiatives Limited, retaining Secured by Design as a trading name and brand.
