NVR series

by Mark Rowe

Wavestore has introduced a new series of Network Video Recorders (NVRs). The British manufacturer of Video Management Software (VMS) says it’s to provide installers and systems integrators with a solution for small systems.

A-Series NVRs enable you to use the latest version of Wavestore’s VMS for installations that require up to eight IP cameras. Supplied with Version 6 embedded onto their Linux operating system, the recorders can be desk-mounted or attached onto the back of a monitor thanks to the inclusion of a VESA mounting plate.

Measuring just 115 x 111 x 52mm (D x W x H) and weighing just 1.2Kg with near-silent operation, the recorders can record up to eight 1080P HD cameras. They run Wavestore’s WaveView client software locally, allowing users to view live and recorded images from a unit for day-to-day standalone operation. Users can log-in remotely using WaveView client software from their PCs or laptops, or while on the go, via the WaveView Mobile app available for iOS and Android devices.

Julian Inman, Head of Product Management for Wavestore, said: “Wavestore’s VMS is arguably the easiest to use in the industry. With the recent introductions of the E-Series, P-Series and now the A-Series, we now have a range of NVRs and Hybrid solutions suitable for the sub-32 camera systems market, making it possible to enjoy the benefits of Wavestore across a much wider range of applications. The A-Series can also be used to provide a distributed solution across larger or multi-site applications or used in conjunction with any other NVR or Hybrid models from the Wavestore range.”

Wavestore adds that the series meets its ‘any video, any format’ philosophy which enables users to use camera technologies and compression formats offered by leading manufacturers. Customisable recording rates can be set per channel for both normal and ‘on alarm’ recording and a mix of camera technologies are supported as standard, including 360 degree fisheye cameras.

Available from Wavestore’s authorised distributors and integration/reseller partners, the new servers come with the option to upgrade or expand at any time, without having to reinstall the software. Users can choose from Base, Premium or Enterprise levels and the exact number of camera licenses required for the application at hand.
