Integrated Systems

Reseller agreement

by Mark Rowe

Traka, the intelligent access management systems company, has signed a reseller agreement with Next Generation Mobility of Munich. It’s for the German firm to integrate and sell its Traka Touch Key Management systems as part of the cloud based Fleetster (www.fleetster.net) pool vehicle management and corporate car sharing product.

The partnership allows for Next Generation Mobility to integrate its software “fleetster” to Traka Touch key management systems . Fleetster is a web based application which allows for company pool vehicles to form Corporate Car Sharing. This offers employees a way to book vehicles for business and personal purposes, reducing costs, while helping streamline processes, the makers claim, and helping the environment. Fleetster says on average pool vehicles sit 65 per cent of their time idle as most cannot be used outside office hours. During office hours, utilisation is often as low as 30pc, resulting in an overall utilisation of only 10pc – for an expensive asset.

“fleetster offers companies tremendous potential for cost savings. Through joining forces with Traka our innovative software meets leading hardware to create an optimal user experience with a truly automated, flexible and robust solution” said Leonhard von Harrach, chief sales officer at Next Generation Mobility.

Traka provides secure key cabinets to store Traka iFobs connected to physical keys. To access iFobs, staffs identify themselves at the automated cabinets via PIN, biometrics or smartcard. Each iFob contains authorisation information; thereby ensuring keys are used by authorised people only and ensuring keys are returned and accounted for in a timely and controlled manner, with recording of any faults found by the user with the asset or vehicle.

Traka Touch systems also offer auditing – with reports showing which staff accessed which keys, when they were taken and when they were returned.

And Brenda Taylor, sales and marketing director with Traka, said: “Traka has achieved more than 50 per cen4t growth YTD 2013 in the automotive sector and with partnerships such as this with Next Generation Mobility we are confident that we will see substantial further growth on the strength of Fleetster, which is a powerful tool improving efficiency and reducing costs in managing car pools.”
