Pets at Home contract

by Mark Rowe

Pets at Home has awarded Brooknight Security the contract to provide manned guarding services to their stores. The award to commence on March 1 will include permanent manned guarding cover and ad hoc support.

The Cheshire-based pet store chain began with a shop in Chester in 1991 and now has 440 branches from Wick and Inverness to Penzance and Falmouth.

The guarding firm says that the award brings another blue chip customer to Brooknight’s retail customer portfolio which includes Homebase, Primark, Mothercare, New Look, Hobbycraft and Swarovski.

Brooknight says that it began working with Pets at Home last year on a series of projects and when the tender was issued, Brooknight was included. The security contractor says that it demonstrated its capability to support Pets at Home’s profit protection strategy and by using expertise and experience in the retail sector, will be very well placed to meet and exceed the expectations of the contract.

Jim Moyes, Brooknight CEO said: ‘Since we started working with Pets at Home, it has always been our ambition to build a long term partnership. This award is absolutely fantastic news and we will provide Pets at Home with a first class service.’
