Door work violence research

by Mark Rowe

The sector regulator the Security Industry Authority is carrying out research to assess what violence security staff encounter in their work. The SIA says this will enable it to put measures in place that it hopes will reduce violence against security operatives and with the public in general.

The SIA wants to hear about experiences of violence in the private security industry, particularly if you work as a door supervisor in the night time economy or in retail security. The more information received the greater understanding the regulator can build, which will help when considering what measures will help reduce the number of violent incidents suffered by staff, and the public.
