Director of Intelligence and Cyber

by Mark Rowe

Kingdom, the St Helens-based security, facilities management and cleaning services provider, has taken on former senior Met Police man Dr Michael McDonagh as Director of Intelligence and Cyber.

Dr McDonagh, pictured, was formerly a Metropolitan Police detective chief superintendent. He was commanding officer of its Counter Terrorism Protective Security Command. He has experience in the UK and abroad – and before becoming one of Britain’s foremost Counter Terrorism officers he served with the Met’s Homicide Command, Covert Policing, Specialist Crime Intelligence and Child Protection units. Before joining the police he served with the Corps of Royal Engineers.

He has joined Kingdom as Director of Intelligence and Cyber and will be based at the company’s central London office but will work with Kingdom’s clients across the UK in all sectors.

McDonagh said: “Kingdom is growing rapidly across the UK and the opportunity to lead this division was too good an opportunity to turn down. I see it as a two way street – I bring my set of skills to the table but I will learn a lot from Kingdom’s talented team too.

“Businesses and individuals in the UK face security issues that are evolving on an almost daily basis – it is vital that they identify those issues as quickly as possible and deal with them effectively. Regardless of their size or industry, businesses can even find themselves targeted because of associations with other businesses or even a case of they’re just in the wrong location – perhaps next to another business that activists are targeting.

“We’re going to be providing our clients with a one-stop shop providing them with the best possible intelligence product that will further enhance Kingdom’s reputation as a market leader.”

Dr McDonagh will host a number of breakfast meetings at Kingdom’s offices where industry professionals will give presentations. He will also advise Kingdom’s clients on critical incident management, executive travel, crisis management, kidnap and ransom and corporate and criminal investigation management.

Terry Barton, Kingdom’s CEO said: “Michael’s CV speaks for itself. He is a highly respected and talented individual and we are delighted that he has decided to join the Kingdom family. His wealth of experience and expertise will further enhance Kingdom’s ability to give our clients the very best security analysis and advice possible.”
