Charity motorcycle run

by Mark Rowe

Some motorcycle enthusiasts from the Incentive FM Group companies, with guests, raised over £5,000 as they took part in an inaugural Charity Motorcycle Run. The ride started at the famous Rycas café at Box Hill in Dorking, Surrey. A two hour ride to Meon in Hampshire followed through scenic Horsham, Petworth and Midhurst before a hearty lunch at Loomies café.

The more direct journey north in the afternoon, again led by John Mansfield, Incentive Lynx Security Control Room Manager, took in the delights of Guildford (not all intended!) and everyone safely completed the 110-mile round trip by mid-afternoon.

The motorcycle exotica included a vintage Harley Davidson, Classic Italian Laverda Jota, an original six cylinder CBX 1000 Honda from the 80’s, two BMW’s and a variety of fast a gleaming modern machinery.

The long distance award went to Liz McLaughlin and Chris Windass who rode their respective bikes from Nottingham that morning and returned the same day. The money raised for military dependants charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers will help support children who have lost a parent serving in the British armed forces.

Jeremy Waud, Chairman of Incentive FM Group, said: “This event provided the perfect opportunity to mix a variety of staff, suppliers and friends on the open road, whilst making a significant sum of money for a fantastic charity. We all had a great time and encourage others to join in the fun next year – route to be agreed and it will be on Friday, May 29, 2020.”
