Software for viewing

by Mark Rowe

The latest from the UK CCTV manufacturer Tecton is the Nucleus Control centre software for viewing, playback and downloading of video. Nucleus allows megapixel cameras tobe displayed and played back in their native resolution. In full screen mode, you can explore the picture by dragging the image with a mouse. Screen shots taken with the Nucleus (right click on full screen and select Save As) are saved as a full size images. Hence you can get some very large ‘photographs’. When the HD image is played in full screen, it now exactly matches the monitor ‘pixels’ which results in a clearer image for HD cameras. The company has rewritten its virtual matrix decoding software. The video wall version now allows up to 16 HD cameras to be displayed in real time without any jitter, or 32 SD or analogue cameras. The upgrade to the standard VIMMO (Virtual Matrix Monitor Output) adds all the speed and smoothness improvements of the video wall version but limited to screen displays of one, four and cameras.
