Indian trade fair

The first edition of Secutech India was held with 14,235 visitors attending. Organised by Messe Frankfurt and Asian Business Exhibition & Conferences Ltd, Secutech India ran in March 2012 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, and attracted 143 exhibitors in 10,000 sqm of exhibition space.

 

Parson Lee, Managing Director for Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media, the international partner of the show, said: “Our first ever show in India was hugely successful with exhibitors from more than 12 countries and regions, including China, India, Germany, Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and the US. Key international players such as Aditya, Axis, Axxon, Bosch, Everfocus, Hikvision, Innovative, Merit Lilin, Nice, Nisa Global, Nitin Fire, Schneider, Zicom and Z-Plus were in attendance.”

 

Sumit Gandhi, Director, Asian Business Exhibition & Conferences added: “The overwhelming response from visitors proved that Indian security market offers great potential.  As well as our 1,000 VIP visitors, the show attracted visitors from Central bank of India, Hitachi Home Electronics Asia, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation Communication Networks Center and Wow Solutions & Systems.” 

 

Due to India’s rapid development, the demand for security products and services are increasing say the organisers.

 

Yang Gao Jian, representing Zhejiang YuAn Fire Fighting Equipment, China, is very optimistic about the Indian market and his company is considering setting up a local manufacturing plant.  At the show he introduced his company’s fire fighting equipment.  “Secutech India is a good platform to promote our products and to understand the Indian market,” he said.  “The visitor flow was good and visitor quality beyond my expectation. We have contracts signed at the show and for next year I may have a bigger booth with our business partner.”

 

Singapore surveillance service provider Axxon, was also an exhibitor at Secutech India who wanted to build brand awareness and promote their services to support India’s infrastructure projects.  Durairaj Gireraj, Director for Axxonsoft Asia said the show was successful for his company. “It goes into the industry and brings in quality visitors. It provides a platform for the industry to meet the right audience,” he said.

 

Local exhibitors at the show included NeoTech Identity Solutions with its RFID tracking solution for jewellery retailers received positive feedback.  The system facilitates accounting, stock taking and sales for security and business efficiency.   “We met a lot of visitors at our booth and some of them would like to become our dealers,” said Nikhil Kanitkar, the company’s Sales Director. 

 

Industry people were invited to witness the first edition of Secutech India, including Captain S Kannan, Chief Security Officer, Central Bank of India.  He said of the show: “Secutech India emphasised on the importance of international participation, which is an opportunity to examine products’ credibility which was not accessed.”  Captain Kannan continued: “The organisers have planned the event meticulously and there will be more business potential with increased awareness in the industry.”  Sanjay Chak, Assistant General Manager, Construction Safety, Reheja Universal, who is currently working on various commercial and residential projects in Mumbai, was looking for fire protection and evacuation safety products.  “I saw a number of interesting products, like the biometric CCTV system, which is very useful for construction sites to track workers in case of emergency,” he said.  “I will recommend my colleagues to come and visit the show, and see what are the latest safety and security available in the market.”
