Hand-held ANPR

by Mark Rowe

ROK Homeland Security, a mobile phone-based policing and security product company, has announced the launch of ROK LPR, its hand-held ANPR system.

The ROK LPR system offers ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) for use on Android mobile devices. The ROK LPR application is available as a stand-alone technology or as an integrated part of the RHS law enforcement mobile application. It can be used in a hand-held overt manner or mounted in a vehicle, as well as from a fixed position with tripod and telephoto lens.

Paolo Fidanza, CEO of RHS said: “We all recognise the incredible effectiveness and value of ANPR in all manner of policing and security activities yet we also know the high cost of setting-up and running both fixed and vehicle-mounted ANPR systems. We have developed ROK LPR, with a target acquisition time of just one second to be a highly cost-effective enhancement to existing ANPR systems.”
