Technical sales appointment

by Mark Rowe

Evolution, the security and fire installer, has appointed Paul Atkinson as a new Technical Sales Engineer. Paul has experience of intruder, fire and CCTV systems, most recently within the pharmaceuticals industry. He originally trained as a carpenter and joiner, gaining a City & Guilds before studying for a C&G Electrical Engineering qualification leading to a 23-year career in the electronic security industry.

Paul, pictured, says: “Systems integration can be a challenge, especially when integrating separate technologies into the final proposal. Once we have engineered a solution, we have to know that the theory works in practice before presenting it to the customer.”

Paul joins the Buckinghamshire-based firm after the launch of its new Evolution Design Division, supporting third parties and consultants with their design projects. He reports into Business Development Manager, Russell Loneragan. Russell says: “The security industry moves quickly and the best people to advise on systems are those working directly with the technologies day in day out. Paul and the team have practical working knowledge of the technology so we can produce innovative designs using the right technology to give the customer the best system. The breadth and depth of the specialist knowledge that we have within the Evolution team is impressive. We have a significant knowledge base, not only of particular industries, but also of very niche technologies.”
