International standards

by Mark Rowe

Euralarm has been granted a bilateral liaison status Type A by the international standards organisation, ISO.

For years, Euralarm reports, it used to have an observer status in various Technical Committees of the European standardisation bodies, such as CEN and CENELEC to represent the European fire safety and security industry. These bodies are providers of European Standards and technical specifications and remove trade barriers for industry and consumers.

The alarm and security body points out that European standardisation is getting more and more connected to the international standardisation on ISO and IEC level thanks to the Vienna and the Dresden agreements.

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a world developer of voluntary International Standards. International standards give specifications for products, services and good practice, and help to break down barriers to international trade.
