Access Control

Midwich and TDSi partner

by Mark Rowe

The security division of Midwich continues has agreed a new partnership with the access security manufacturer TDSi.

TDSi offers readers, controllers and software. Since its formation 30 years ago, the company has supplied security systems across the world, with several million card holders using TDSi access control.

Mark Thomas, Director at Midwich Security said: “We are always looking to bolster our portfolio with products and services that bring genuine benefit to the industry and, with TDSi, we can now supply the very latest integrated access control solutions to add to our comprehensive security offering. TDSi manufactures the full spectrum in access control solutions – from entry level door systems to number plate recognition systems that can automatically log you into your computer on arrival into the company car park. Security in the corporate world is becoming increasingly efficient as technologies combine, and we are delighted to welcome TDSi to the Midwich stable where we confidently look forward to continued mutual success.”

An example of technologies working in synergy is TDSi’s new access control software, EXgarde 4.1 which facilitates convergence between IT and physical security into one situation management portal. TDSi’s EXgarde was developed in recognition of this growing convergence of IT and buildings management systems, as IP connectivity unites traditionally disparate security and IT functions. Convergence brings the firms say client benefits in terms of information superiority, flexibility, scalability, cheaper implementation using common infrastructure (often financed from shared budgets), and increased control by using and sharing resources.

John Davies, Managing Director of TDSi added: “We are delighted to be working with Midwich, which has an enviable record of expertise and experience in technology distribution. It’s no secret that IT and physical security have heavily converged in recent times, with our products becoming very closely aligned with the other technology systems found in modern organisations today. It makes perfect sense for locked doors, CCTV and intruder alarms to be integrated with company databases and building control services, to offer an holistic view of any facility. Working with Midwich, we are able to offer complimentary systems, so customers can be confident that they can source all their security and IT needs from one expert source.”
