Norbain report that they are key distribution partners for the EntroStar and EntroWatch access products from Remsdaq. While the Reading-based distributors say that EntroWatch is an entry-mid level product, it can grow with your requirements. This UK-designed product recently won the 2013 best new access control hardware and software award from the SIA at ISC West in Las Vegas.
EntroStar is an open protocol PoE/PoE+ enabled access controller unit, supporting two doors and up to four readers. Features include:
• PoE and PoE+, so in most cases there is no need for 230v mains at the door
• Native BACnet protocol allows ‘plug and play’, for third party integration
• Available in a sturdy enclosure with or without PSU, both covered by a three year warranty
• diagnostics LEDs further reduce installation time
• anti-tamper protection
• Use with any wiegand compatible readers, including HID
• Automatic detection and configuration of facility codes
• Standard CAT5 cable for readers which plug straight into EntroStar to save more time.
The EntroWatch software comes free with the controllers which:
• Automatically discovers EntroStar controllers, so hardly any configuration needed
• The first access controller software with a Windows 8 look and feel, the tile layout makes it the makers say easy to navigate – any menu is only two clicks away
• Integral ID badge management
• Interactive site maps
• ‘On site’ feature for roll call; and
• Available in multiple languages.
