Access rights update

by Mark Rowe

ASSA’s CLIQ Remote is now available with a new vandal-resistant Wall PD unit to allow users to update their access rights without visiting their administrator.
CLIQ Remote is a product for larger masterkey suites, remote sites and companies with a spread of operations; providing users with remote access to a building, regardless of location, through a secure web connection.

The vandal-resistant Wall PD unit enables key holders to insert their key into the Wall PD keyhole to update their authorisations and schedules, without contacting their administrator. The unit, which meets with vandal-resistant standard IK9-EN62262, can be placed outside external and internal doors, so users can update their access rights when navigating buildings.

The new wall unit is IP65 rated, making the unit suitable to withstand a variety of weather, the makers add. Nojmol Islam, Product Manager for ASSA, said: “The new vandal-resistant Wall PD unit eliminates the need for an administrator to update user credentials and, as no data is stored within the unit, there us no security risk of someone unauthorised being able to get possession of secret information, such as encryption keys. ASSA’s CLIQ Remote is already a popular product for both small and large organisations, It has created scalable, centralised and automated security management that reduces administrative requirements making it a cost-effective system for the education, healthcare and commercial sectors. The system reduces the risk of keys falling into the wrong hands by allowing the access rights of lost keys to be easily removed without the need to change cylinders and makes it easy to add or delete employees when they join or leave companies.”

CLIQ Remote can create time defined user keys to allow access for a specified time, of use for engineers and contractors who need access outside normal working hours. Visit http://www.assaabloy.co.uk/Security-Solutions.
