ONVIF at IFSEC 2016

by Mark Rowe

ONVIF, the US-based standardisation initiative for IP-based physical security products, will be a sponsor of IFSEC International 2016 in London. The 2016 show runs from June 21 to 23 June, at ExCel London.

Per Björkdahl, Chairman of ONVIF’s Steering Committee, said: “We are excited to highlight at IFSEC some of our recent successes such as the recent adoption of the ONVIF access control specification by the International Electrotechnical Commission as a global standard. This illustrates the vital role of standards not only within the industry, but also beyond, as the Internet of Things and safe city deployments are increasing and standards groups look to collaborate with one another.”

ONVIF will sponsor the IFSEC Cafe at exhibitor booth B550, where attendees will find seating and some educational materials about ONVIF. ONVIF will be represented by 68 member companies exhibiting at IFSEC this year.

With nearly 500 members on six continents, ONVIF includes camera, video management system and access control companies that contribute to the development of open global standards for inter-operability of IP-based physical security products. Profile S is for streaming video; Profile G for recording and storage; Profile C for physical access control and the Release Candidates Profile A, for access control configuration, and Profile Q, for improved out-of-the-box functionality.
