Online CPD training

by Mark Rowe

The physical security product company Abloy UK has launched webinars. They’re designed to help organisations stay up to date with the latest in building regulation compliance and access control technology.

The two RIBA Core Curriculum CPD webinars also can keep the sector connected while so many are working from home, as well as helping security specifiers plan for after lockdown.

The first, Electrically Controlled Fire and Escape Doors, CE Marking and the CPR, will provide an understanding of compliance and incorporating access control systems in commercial buildings. It will cover compliant access control systems and give guidance on ensuring electric locking specifications meet the requirement of both fire door and escape door legislation.

The course will take place on Wednesday, April 15, at 2pm and can be signed up to at https://bit.ly/3e832xv.

The second, Digital Transformation in Physical Security, offers double CPD points and covers how the disruptive world of digital technology is affecting conventional physical security. It will explore how to manage keys and access to buildings in the ‘smart’ world, while future-proofing the physical security of modern buildings against threats technology can bring.

Digital Transformation in Physical Security will also cover how to achieve cost effective, aesthetic and smart security with a proven return on investment while remaining sustainable with low carbon footprint solutions.

That course will run on Thursday, April 16, at 2pm, and can be signed up to at https://bit.ly/3aWFHgi.

Pat Jefferies, Commercial Director at Abloy UK, pictured, said: “Many people now working from home have the opportunity to rethink and adapt their working day, which has enabled them to update their knowledge and professional training.

“Now is an ideal time to take on take on the jobs we typically never to, and training is a perfect example. These webinars will allow people and organisations to keep up to date with the latest in access control technology, allowing them to hit the ground running once life returns to normal.”

The webinar will be recorded and made available afterwards to all who have registered. For details, email [email protected].
