Employer of the Year Award

by Mark Rowe

Securitas has been made Employer of the Year by the training company TQ Training. The Northampton-based firm chose Securitas from over 700 employers for whom it delivers qualifications.

Dr Mike Motley, TQ’s Managing Director, said: “We asked our staff to put forward those companies who they thought really deserved recognition for their support of our apprenticeship programme. Securitas came out on top, not only for their continued support, but for the close working relationship it has forged with our senior executive.”

Securitas began its apprenticeships in 2012 with the appointment of a trainee security officer at the Centre Court Shopping Centre in Wimbledon. The company has since put more than 1,400 staff through apprenticeships or other courses with TQ.

Securitas’ Country President, Brian Riis Nielsen, said: “We strongly feel that it is our people that make a difference and top-class training and support is vital to ensure we give the best service to our customers. Apprenticeships are a great way for companies to recruit individuals who may otherwise be struggling to find employment due to limited workplace experience. Plus, they provide a great platform towards a future career as a result of the valuable training benefits on offer.”
