Academy dates

by Mark Rowe

The Abloy Academy has announced its 2013 course dates. Last year saw more than 100 attend. For 2013 nine courses are scheduled. A purpose built facility at Abloy’s Willenhall factory, the Academy includes classroom, showroom and workshop, where customers can attend product presentations, specification seminars and practical installation training.

Abloy UK’s events are aimed at installers, security managers, lock centres, specifiers and end-users. Courses range from the foundations course to hands-on training in electric and mechanical locks, and specification seminars on security solutions for health and education facilities.

Tony Lloyd, Managing Director, Lloyd Asset Protection, said: “I would recommend attending the Abloy Academy, in particular the Foundations course, which provided me with an invaluable insight in to the door specification process. In the asset protection business, we take an advisory role, meaning that understanding Building Regulations and standards, particularly those relating to fire doors, is not just important, it is essential.

“The session was well-organised, informative and thoroughly enjoyable and I would certainly consider attending further courses in the future.”

Jon Burke, Marketing Manager for Abloy, said: “The Academy is a well-regarded training facility within the industry. We’re here to provide the industry with key training courses that will really make a difference to their business. We’re looking forward to a great 2013 and building on the current courses we have.”
