IFSEC latest

by Mark Rowe

We know that it’s important to be on top of the latest technology available in security and IFSEC International is the place to learn more about it. Exhibitors continue to roll in with Videotec, Vicon, Allied Telesis, Evva, ATD Electronique and ITE Technologies all confirming they will be at the 2015 show.

What will be happening on the show floor reflects industry investment being made between now and 2020 on Safe Cities projects across the globe. Forecast at over US$210 billion, these will cover markets including infrastructure, government, transport, education, healthcare, retail, banking, cyber security, construction and energy.

Safe Cities was launched at IFSEC in 2014 and will be back in a bigger way this year. This is a hub to show how traditional and new security solutions can be inter-connected, inter-operable and future-proofed to play a vital role in advanced security architectures, providing stronger resilience, greater security and a safer environment for the next generation. With support from the UK Government, this is a chance for visitors to get an insight into high level initiatives across the globe and how systems are integrated into the foundations of cities.

Safe Cities at IFSEC will give senior-level bodies exclusive content and a forum for open discussion. It’s an opportunity to speak to Government officials who set the strategy and get a deeper look into what the future holds. We have also confirmed that the Euralarm conference will be taking place at IFSEC which focuses on Safe Cities and the European Union approach to contemporary networked security solutions, mass notification and protection of critical national infrastructure. Full details of this will be released shortly.

It’s an exciting time for IFSEC and as threats around the world grow, it’s important that the right technology is being used in the best way. This whole new extended stream of networking and interaction with industry officials is an opportunity not to be missed. We know how it can often be challenging to have a focused discussion and Safe Cities is chance to keep up to speed with initiatives that are happening all over the world, as well as seeing the technology live in action on the show floor.
