Telindus Surveillance Solutions (TSS), developers of video surveillance products (www.telindussurveillance.com), launched its new Centauri video codec.
New video codecs and video analytics can be transfered at the edge of the network, thus maximising system performance without over burdening the network, it is claimed.
"The New Centauri is our fourth generation Video Surveillance product and builds on the success of the previous generations, ensuring that the Centauri name continues to be the ‘best of breed’ in surveillance technology. With this new product we have managed to marry our comprehensive management system and world class recording solutions. We believe the new Centauri 8/56 and 112 products will set a benchmark in this market." says Dr Ken Sutherland, Solutions Director at Telindus Surveillance Solutions.
Initially designed as a high capacity video codec, the Centauri is capable of connecting up to 112 analogue devices, with the architecture having the flexibility to produce small form-factor variants to suit any project requirements. The hardware design ensures that the Centauri can fully integrate with new technologies such as image analysis, whilst maintaining the resiliency and redundancy features of the original CellStack Centauri, which are essential for any mission critical project, it is claimed.
These are all features according to the firm that make the products suited for both mission critical applications, such as airports, ports, highways, rail and metro, and non-mission critical applications, such as city centres, high-end retail, industry, education, health and smaller transportation projects in a cost effective way, it is claimed.
