Manufacturer CEM Systems has supplied an integrated access control and badge production system to Down Lisburn Trust, Northern Ireland.

The order sees CEM secure its first hospital in Northern Ireland – the Lagan Valley Hospital in Lisburn. CEM describe the project as further testament that their access control capabilities extend to applications outside of the airport market. Down Lisburn Trust is the main provider of health and social care to the Down and Lisburn regions of Northern Ireland. In response to the increasing threat of intruders into sensitive areas of the Trust?s facilities – including hospitals, health centres, and daycare centres – the organisation chose the AC2000SE to improve security. The system will be controlled centrally at the Trust’s head office at Lisburn Health Centre and will monitor the neighbouring Lagan Valley Hospital, Lisburn. Supported by the AC2000SE, the system is expected to expand to cover the remaining 20 facilities within the Trust, say CEM. The system will be installed by Belfast-based Radiocontact. CEM Systems is a business unit of Tyco International?s Fire & Security Division. Visit http://www.cemsys.com
