Exeter Gig

by msecadm4921

The Exeter venue Westpoint Arena hosted a sell-out Razorlight gig for 7,500 fans. Showsec managed the concert security.

The contractor covered from out-perimeters of the venue, queuing, to ticket and bag checks at the entrance, to backstage, pit, front of house and on the floor security. Showsec’s Cardiff and South West Area Manager, Pascal Lindelauf, was supervising security. It was his first show at Westpoint and after profiling the audience, he deployed 50 staff for the venue. He said: "Out of those 50 staff, all hold the NCFE event stewarding qualification, 35 are SIA licensed and all 20 of the pit staff have completed the Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College-accredited pit training course."

Westpoint Arena’s Chief Executive, Mervyn Hosking, said: "Looking after our audiences is a very important area; and one that our clients, licensing officials, and ourselves all need to feel confident about. Showsec do a better job than anyone else we’ve employed, hence we’ve contracted them."
