Encoder-decoder Series

by msecadm4921

Intelligent video product firm ioimage has released the ioibox lvm encoder/decoder series.

The Ivm series delivers video quality with a constant bit rate (CBR), thereby optimising bandwidth for real-time video compression and streaming, the Israeli firm says. Suitable, it is claimed for mission-critical UAV, missile and long-range surveillance devices, the lvm enables homeland security and defense organisations to carry out audio, video and data-link applications in which timing, quality and bandwidth are critical, the makers add.

Deployed at a number of Israeli defence installations, the lvm line of intelligent video appliances maintains end-to-end throughput below 50ms – far less than alternative solutions, it is claimed. The encoders/decoders support CBR streaming from as low as 64Kbps, thereby enabling visual communication with remote sites at up to 6Mbps, the makers say. Built with integrated storage, the series decreases dependency on link conditions while maintaining information even when the network connection is down, it is claimed. The series is available with optional built-in video analytics and in module only mode for OEM.

What they say

"The lvm series complements our line of intelligent video appliances, and boosts our offering to the homeland security and defense markets, as well as to commercial multi-site monitoring", said Roni Kass, CEO of ioimage. "With the industry’s lowest throughput and exceptional video quality that supports narrow and broad links, the lvm is ideally suited for a full range of real-time, mission-critical applications carried out by security and defense organizations."
