Nexus Connect partner

by Mark Rowe

Evolution has signed as the first installer partner for Nexus Connect, the partner programme launched last month by Center Group and featured in the March print issue of Professional Security.

In what Center Group term a security market dominated by low margins and competition on price, the firm describes Nexus Connect as a new, sustainable distribution model, with a simple aim: to generate ongoing business for partner integrators and manufacturers – and to provide end users with the security system for their needs.

Bob Tate, who heads the Nexus Connect division, said of Evolution : “They are independent and multi-disciplined, having started primarily as an access control integrator, and the company is now able to provide complex installations for large companies in a variety of sectors. Our aim is to help Evolution secure as much business as possible by providing them with high quality, reliable IP-based systems.”

Evolution sales and marketing director John Kirtland said one of the key benefits from his company’s perspective was that Nexus Connect would help to manage the relationships between the scheme’s manufacturer partners, ensuring products for Evolution’s customers were integrated with the SeeTec video management system – the core of the Nexus Connect system offering.

Evolution founder Richard Lambert said: “We’re delighted to be part of Nexus Connect. This is a true partnership scheme with benefits for all parties involved, and the lead management and technical support offered by Center Group will add value to our end user customers. We’re very much looking forward to working with all of the Nexus Connect partners.”

Evolution installs security and associated products on multi-sited projects. The company says that it has fully embraced the increasingly IT-centric development of the security industry.
According to the distributor Nexus Connect aims to do away with the inherent problems in schemes operated and controlled by manufacturers which generally solely aim to build loyalty among installers, requiring commitment from the installation company to buy a certain value of product from that single manufacturer. In the case of Nexus Connect, according to the distributor, it takes a central position between multiple manufacturers and installers, on the basis that it manages sales leads for the benefit of all and provides technical expertise and priority project pricing to installer partners.
