Institute deputy, vice

by Mark Rowe

More new officers have been announced at the Security Institute. The new chairman, Garry Evanson, who moved up from deputy after Emma Shaw stood down this spring, has asked Andrew Nicholls to be deputy chairman. He’s the Birmingham-based Head of Security and Licensing for the brewers Mitchells & Butlers PLC. He leads a team of Security and Licensing Managers. Andrew’s work involves management of security requirements and licensing compliance across an estate of almost 2000 premises. He is a regular speaker at trade conferences and sits on several national working groups.

And Dr Alison Wakefield is vice-chairman. She’s an academic criminologist based at the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, at the University of Portsmouth. There she directs the BSc programme in Risk and Security Management; and the Professional Doctorate in Security Risk Management.
