Kuwait uni transmission

by Mark Rowe

AMG Systems, the British manufacturer of CCTV transmission technology and Megapixel cameras, and systems integration partner, Kharafi National, have co-operated on a project at Kuwait University (KU).

Leona Hayes, pictured, AMG’s Business Development Manager for the Middle East, says: “Kharafi chose our AMG4700 transmission solution for the integrated solution for Kuwait University. The AMG solution transmits signals from around 360 cameras and the Access Control system – as well as other facilities – also transmitted on the backbone. The project is unusual in the sense that it requires all CCTV camera signals to be received at multiple, redundant Control Rooms. AMG’s innovative ‘add, drop and pass’ facility on the 4700 series allows signals to be dropped off at multiple locations without duplicating transmitters. This sophisticated and unique approach significantly reduces hardware and infrastructure costs.”

And Tarek Tahboub, Sales Executive, Facilities Technology Unit at Kharafi National, says: “AMG Systems’ transmission solution was chosen for this comprehensive project not only because the AMG4700 series met our requirements. Equally important is the fact that a lot of flexibility was demonstrated by AMG in meeting our requirements and their willingness to understand the constraints under which we were working. At every stage, the AMG team took the time to understand the changing demands of the project and responded in an effective and professional manner. It is for these reasons that AMG is the partner of 1st Choice for Kharafi National.”
