Day school alarm

by Mark Rowe

A new wireless fire alarm system has been installed at a London co-educational independent day school.

The system at Radnor House School, Twickenham, south west London has Kentec fire control panels. Radnor House is a new co-educational independent school for students aged seven to 18, on the banks of the River Thames where 18th century poet Alexander Pope’s villa once stood. A £1.5m building renovation that included specialist science laboratories, an art suite, music school and an all-weather play area for more than 130 students.

Fire safety installers Fire Systems Ltd engineered and fitted a system that would not damage the fabric of the historic building, but would provide fire protection to staff and students.

A new 12 zone wireless fire alarm system, comprising a Kentec Syncro two loop AS analogue addressable fire alarm control panel using Argus open protocol fire data communications with Argus wireless detectors, was installed and commissioned by Fire Systems in two weeks.

The installers add that the products do not impact on the historical beauty of the building by removing the need for unsightly cables.

Kentec adds that its fire control panels are used in heritage buildings including galleries, Government buildings and royal palaces. For product details visit the Kentec Electronics Ltd website www.kentec.co.uk
