Merican CRASBO

by Mark Rowe

Criminal Anti Social Behaviour Orders have been granted against two Kidderminster offenders.
A three-year CRASBO was granted on Matthew Lavelle, aged 30, of Dunlin Drive, and an indefinite CRASBO against Jed Danell, aged 51, of Comberton Road.
Both were granted by Kidderminster magistrates yesterday, Thursday 6 June.
Lavell’s order prohibits him from behaving in any way, or encouraging others to behave in any way that causes or is likely to cause anyone harassment, alarm or distress, including but not restricted to using foul, abusive or offensive language or gestures, and using aggressive, threatening or intimidating behaviour.
He is also banned from communicating maliciously either by phone, text messages or social networking sites anything that causes or is likely to cause alarm, harassment or distress, and being with a named individual, 31-year-old Mark Reece, in any public place or any place to which the public has access.
The court was told Lavelle had been a persistent offender since 1996, and had 20 convictions,
Lavelle has sent malicious and threatening text messages, made threats to petrol bomb a property, demanded money off people in an aggressive manner, made threats to kill, sworn at members of the public, assaulted and spat at people and caused damage to property.
PC Andy Forbes of West Mercia Police said: “Lavelle’s offending almost always involves him acting aggressively, making threats and being abusive, in a very unpleasant way, and this order shows such behaviour will not be tolerated.”
Jed DanellThe CRASBO on Danell prohibits him from entering any retail premises within the town centre, except for attending the late night pharmacy in Lower Mill Street, for the purposes of collecting a prescription. He is also banned from entering the Co-Op Store, Franche Road, Kidderminster. The order lasts until further order.
The court was told Dannell steals to fund his drug habit, and to date has 238 convictions, with offences escalating. In a recent incident when he was stopped by a store security guard on suspicion of stealing meat, he became aggressive and swore, causing distress to shoppers.
