Ian Pugh joins Kiasu

by Mark Rowe

Ian Pugh, formerly of Intu PLC, is joining Kiasu Crisis Management as Non-Executive Director.

Pugh, pictured, will step into a newly created role, liaising with Managing Director Ian Riches and his senior leadership team to provide strategic direction, the company reports.

Pugh has some 35 years of experience working in security including five years as Group Head of Security for Intu PLC, the shopping mall operators.

Operating since 2009, Kiasu Crisis Management provides training, auditing and compliance services, and professional and security consultancy services to companies, including several listed on the FTSE 100 and Fortune 500.

Ian Riches said: “When people of Ian Pugh’s calibre become available, we move heaven and earth to find a way of working together. Ian brings immense experience to the Group and will play a pivotal role in developing our Crisis Management Division and providing counsel to the wider Kiasu Group. We’ve worked with Ian in his previous role as Group Head of Security for Intu PLC and felt he was the ideal appointment as a non-executive given his engaging, pragmatic style and huge knowledge base. The team and I very much look forward to welcoming Ian on board.”

Ian Pugh said: “I am delighted to be joining Kiasu and working with Ian and his team. When I wanted a company who could train and prepare my teams at Intu PLC in all aspects of major incident management and crisis readiness, Kiasu were who I turned to. The training delivered helped keep our centres safe and secure and provided our teams with the necessary skills to manage incidents in a professional manner. It is so important for organisations to have a clear strategy around crisis preparedness and I am very much looking forward to working with Kiasu’s existing and prospective clients and sharing my experiences and knowledge across the group.”

Ian Pugh last featured in the January 2018 print edition of Professional Security magazine; in our September 2017 edition we featured one of Intu’s centres, Lakeside, taking up the police patrol method Project Servator with Essex Police.
