Stalking, abuse date

by Mark Rowe

Behind Closed Doors is the title of an afternoon conference in the City of London on November 28. The aim is to give employers the tools to identify members of staff who are suffering at the hands of an abuser, highlighting how the work place plays a part in the bigger picture and where and how to access specialist help and support for the victim and the company.

For details visit the City of London Police website.

Organisers point out that an employer has a duty of care; certain types of abuse can escalate and often within the work place or directly outside it. Maintaining employment can be extremely important to victims – however sometimes their performance may be reduced as a result of abuse.

The invited speakers include Laura Richards CEO of Paladin, National Stalking Advocacy Service; and John and Penny Clough, the parents of Jane Clough, who was murdered aged 26 while working as an A&E nurse at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Places will be limited for this event so booking is advised.
