4G rapid redeployable cameras in Wigan

by Mark Rowe

Revader Security has supplied 4G rapid redeployable CCTV cameras to Wigan Council.

The units, from the Transit range of outdoor cameras, pictured, are an addition to 500 fixed cameras. The are ruggedised outdoor surveillance solutions which have been proven over many years to deter crime and secure the vital video evidence necessary for prosecution. The council’s staff can regularly re-position each camera around the town to respond to the movement of crime hotspots, anti-social behaviour, vandalism and public events. As the units can be installed in virtually any location within minutes, only minimal planning and notice is required, the product firm adds. Each unit delivers live and recorded footage to the council’s CCTV control centre over a mix of wired, wireless and mobile networks. Power is from a variety of sources, including mains and battery.

The specialist installers were Baydale Control Systems based in Darlington. The council has reported reduced instances of antisocial behaviour and crime and vital evidence retrieval after incidents, resulting in successful criminal prosecutions.

Terry Derbyshire, Technical and Projects Officer at Wigan Council said: “The redeployable cameras are always in high demand and have made a significant impact in effectively implementing our surveillance capability across the authority. They are straightforward to install, easy to use and are built to an exceptional standard. I would recommend them highly.” Revader says it continues to work with Baydale to support Wigan Council and other clients in the public and private sector.
