Workforce Management

Lone worker protection promo

by Mark Rowe

The west country based security contractor Securi-Guard reports it’s working with a manufacturer of lone worker protection devices to showcase its products via a new online promotional video.

In 2014, Plymouth-based Securi-Guard Monitoring was selected as UK monitoring provider for Blackline, providing 24/7 response to alerts generated by its devices.

Blackline – based in Canada – offers wireless location, manufacturing and marketing products and services, for worker safety monitoring, and covert tracking applications. Blackline has put Securi-Guard’s National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Gold approved monitoring services in the spotlight in the video, aimed at existing and potential clients.

The video gives an overview of Securi-Guard and its monitoring services, operated from an NSI Gold Cat ll Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), as well as the benefits of Blackline’s devices.

Pete Stanley, Head of Telematics at Securi-Guard, pictured, said: “In the last two years we have built a very solid and mutually beneficial professional relationship with Blackline. It’s a partnership that has given us access to a range of highly effective, yet simple to use devices and, in turn, connected Blackline to cutting edge, industry approved monitoring services. It is a powerful industry alliance and one we are very proud to be associated with.”

Blackline’s products are aimed at employees facing daily risks in their work, such as certain council staff, utility workers, healthcare, bailiffs, debt collectors and court enforcement officers.

Devices use Global Positioning System (GPS) to give location of a lone worker. They also feature a panic button if the user is in danger of attack or injure themselves working in remote locations, as well as man down, no motion, silent (discreet) and check-in alarm features.

Securi-Guard is providing advice, support and monitoring for Blackline across Europe, via its Securi-Track service. Launched in 2011, Securi-Track works with approved security firms in 16 European countries to provide response to vehicle theft and hijacking abroad. The same platform is being used to support the monitoring of Blackline Safety Europe’s lone worker protection devices.

Securi-Guard is offering NSI BS8484 Gold accredited lone worker services, one of several NSI Gold awards the company holds for its fire and security services. Pete Stanley is also a committee member of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) Lone Worker Section, which is helping to raise the profile of importance of lone worker protection.
