With more than 1.000 participants, the “VdS Fire Safety Cologne” fire prevention fair in the Rhineland was combined with three conferencesVdS is already inviting to the follow-up event, held on December 4 and 5, 2013.
Last year, a total of 373 people died as a result of fires across Germany alone. Every three minutes our fire brigades need to respond to an incident. These figures demonstrate the importance of emphasising fire prevention according to the event organisers aftert the Cologne-Fair event on December 5 and 6.
The VdS conferences covered “Fire Alarm Systems”, “Fire Protection in existing buildings” and “International Conference on Fire Extinguishing Systems”. Some 60 exhibitors presented products and services in fire protection engineering and fire protection.
The chief of the VdS training centre, Ingeborg Schlosser, said: “The first VdS Fire Safety was more than only the first fire protection fair in the Rhineland – with over 1.000 participants from 14 countries we have established a central meeting place for the entire industry. Due to this great success I am glad to announce that the next VdS Fire Safety has already been scheduled: We invite the industry to join us again at the Cologne trade fair on December 4 and 5, 2013. We will combine the fire protection fair with our two well-known conferences ‘Fire Extinguishing Systems’ and ‘Fire Detection and Alarm Systems’ in addition to our traditional two-day training event for fire protection officers.”
