HID Global announced the new FARGO HDPii Plus financial card printer-encoder, for retransfer printing of financial cards.
Featuring the company’s fifth generation of High Definition Printing (HDP), the new printer enables the issuance of ISO magnetic swipe and contact-contactless EMV cards at branch offices and other sites, saving time and money for the financial issuer while providing the card holder with a card to use immediately.
To meet the security demands of instant financial issuance, the new printer features AES256 data encryption, resin ribbon erase and inline encoding for ISO magnetic swipe and Europay MasterCard and Visa (EMV) contact/contactless chips. An optional dual card input hopper allows for automatic switching between two card types. This feature lets banks print to different card stocks when Visa and MasterCard pre-branded cards are used or when switching between traditional magnetic swipe and EMV cards are needed for customers.

HID Global’s HDP solutions are utilised to securely issue millions of financial cards around the world by banks, credit unions and retailers. Most recently adopted by one of South America’s largest banks, the HDPii platform has over 5,000 printer units manufactured and in use since 2008.
HID Global is demonstrating its new product at CARTES America, booth #202 in Las Vegas from April 23-25.
