Online portal is a cert

by Mark Rowe

The examination body APMG-International has launched an online portal to help businesses navigate cyber-security certifications and accreditation schemes. The site, which houses resources about what schemes are available, from ISO 27001 to specialist schemes such as RESILIA, has been designed to aid decision making when it comes to cyber security posture. Developed with UK Government bodies such as CESG, the Information Security arm of GCHQ, the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, and industry specialists, such as AXELOS, the certifications adhere to cyber security best practice, APMG says.

The portal allows users to locate Accredited Training Providers (ATOs) and details APMG’s 11 cyber security and resilience products. These include:

CDCAT – Cyber Defence Capability Assessment Tool
CCP – CESG Certified Professional
Cloud Industry Forum Code of Practice
OBASHI Certification

Richard Pharro, CEO of APMG, said: “Data breaches are on the rise, both in terms of frequency and economic impact, so it’s important that businesses have access to clear, straightforward advice that can cut through the incredibly noisy cyber-security market. Technological solutions, such as encryption and firewalls, can only go so far to protect your data; organisational set-up and culture are just as important, if not more so, which is why business-relevant accreditation and certification schemes are key. The cyber-security frameworks we have developed are key to embedding sound practices within organisations, helping them to adopt a best practice approach to securing their data.”
