Range update

by Mark Rowe

The Concept Pro weatherproof bullet AIR range has a redesigned housing and upgraded specification by distributor Videcon Ltd.

The new housings for all sizes of the AIR camera offer a new modern design the firm says. They are available in 4 Megapixel (MP) IP and AHD4 Four-in-One makes. AHD4 cameras are compatible with all major HD analogue CCTV technologies, the company says, including AHD, TVI and CVI platforms, as well as working with traditional analogue systems. The distributor says that installers do not need to feel tied down to any single analogue CCTV platform and can reduce the number of camera they have to support when dealing with platforms.

As for infra-red (IR) distances, the smallest camera now provide a typical 20m infrared coverage as standard. The ‘AIR-IR’ bolt-on lamps, which can extend the infrared distance of the largest AIR camera up to 80m, can be adjusted on a five-degree angle allowing installers to fine-tune infrared coverage dependent on the scene. Using Advanced Infrared LEDs, which adjust the infrared levels dependent on the proximity and movement of objects, AIR cameras deliver smooth and even illumination even in the most challenging sites it is claimed.

New auto-iris motorised zoom lens versions of the cameras are also available, controllable from a compatible Concept Pro recorder. In the same way IP cameras use CAT5 and CAT6 cable, AHD4 cameras can use the same coax cable to deliver video and telemetry data to control the lens using the ‘Coaxitron’ protocol.

Steve Newsome, Sales Director of Videcon Ltd, said: “The updated AIR range demonstrates the commitment Videcon undertakes to provide a sustainable evolution of Concept Pro products, introducing new features while maintaining the same ease of setup and usability for installers.”
