IDIS alliance

by Mark Rowe

The manufacturer IDIS has announced a strategic alliance with an installer, Sunstone Systems to bring its DirectIP products to its UK customers.

Sunstone has completed its first DirectIP rollout at a Gloucestershire school, Katharine Lady Berkeley’s in Wotton-under-Edge in the Cotswolds. The newly installed 22-cameras replace existing CCTV and forms a first phase.

Covered are the main school and its sports facilities, the latter a shared facility with the local council. Using network-enabled surveillance allows both parties to monitor the sites and for the school to real-time share information and CCTV footage with public bodies, including the emergency services, in the event of an incident. Alastair Farwell, Site Manager at Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School, said: “The Sunstone team have provided us with a future proof security system allowing for other technologies to be brought on-line as required. We will continue to invest in improving the health, safety and well-being of our students as well as in deterring inappropriate use of the school facilities.”

Paul Schelhaas, Director at Sunstone Systems, said: “By partnering with IDIS, we have simplified the surveillance buying chain for our customers while benefitting from a direct IDIS technical and product support model. The DirectIP™ solution suite continues to impress our customers in terms of superior image clarity and performance, combined with a cost-effective price tag and rapid deployment capability.”
