Y3K, a UK manufacturer and distributor of HD CCTV products, is offering HD 960H cameras and DVR kits. 960H, a new analogue standard for security cameras and DVRs, produces images that are 960 horizontal and 480 vertical pixels and will eventually replace Y3K’s D1 resolution analogue cameras and DVRs. The makers claim that IQCCTV 960H offer benefits compared with current D1 resolution systems as an alternative to IP megapixel systems.
In terms of image quality, IQCCTV 960H offers the following:
•Higher resolution recording, capable of capturing images that are 33 per cent larger than D1 and 500pc larger than CIF
•Real-time recording at 30fps (frames per second)
•Sharper images with more detail and colour. Cameras and DVRs can capture images up to 700 TVL, the highest TV lines on the market
•True-to-life aspect ratio. 960H creates widescreen pictures that don’t need to be stretched to fit widescreen TVs and monitors.
Paul Singh, Y3K’s Group CEO, said: “IQCCTV 960H is a truly flexible technology and offers installers an easy upgrade path to sell to companies that already have a security camera system, making it easy for existing analogue installations to be replaced. The cameras are also compatible with standard-resolution DVRs, but will only give you improved picture quality and performance when recorded on a system that supports full image sizes. The two main advantages of 960H that installers won’t be able to resist are the backwards compatibility with standard resolution cameras and DVRs, not to mention the unbelievable price at which Y3K can sell this technology.”
As the need for CCTV images of better resolution increases, 960H offers superior image quality when compared with D1, the makers say, and is now the makers claim established as a real alternative to megapixel CCTV.
IQCCTV HD 960H four-camera kits will be available in bullet and dome camera configurations and will include an HD 960H DVR, 1 TB hard drive, remote control, USB mouse, 4 x cameras, 4 x video cables, camera power supply, a 1-metre HDMI lead and an Ethernet/Network cable.
