Gold medal for PTZ dome

by Mark Rowe

Hikvision’s DS-2DF7286 Network PTZ Dome Camera series has won the Securex 2014 Poznan International Fair (PIF) Gold Medal. The prize came for the DS-2DF7286’s Smart Tracking.

The PIF Gold Medal is one of the most recognized awards in the Polish market, and is granted after assessment of the latest security products in this market. The jury charged with choosing a winner was comprised of various specialists in the security world. Of products entered in the competition, only 23 were eventually chosen for the Gold Medal – with the DS-2DF7286 series included in this group.

Tomasz Migdal, Hikvision Sales Manager for the Polish market said: “We are truly honored to receive the PIF Gold Medal Prize. Importantly, this affirmation serves as a tool to reaffirm our customer’s trust in the Hikvision brand. Smart is the latest idea that aims to bring intelligence, efficiency, and convenience into every aspect of surveillance. The DS-2DF7286 series is specifically designed to deliver this concept to the market and convey the idea of smart security.”

Featuring this Smart Tracking function, Hikvision’s DS-2DF7286 series of network PTZ cameras detects moving objects and follows them within the camera’s area of coverage. This is of importance in locations where the occasional presence of people or vehicles require attention. Also, this series offers a 30x optical zoom to provide detail for distant objects and suspicious individuals. These PTZ cameras provide up-to 150m of IR surveillance, even in total darkness. The makers add that this series is suitable for where tracking and zooming are paramount (such as airports, highways, stadiums, and scenic sites).

This DS-2DF7286 series has already been applied in several vertical markets, including city surveillance, highways, and industrial parks. An example of this usage is the recent Korean City Surveillance solution. In this application, more than 750 units of Hikvision’s DS-2DF7286-A 2MP Network IR PTZ Dome Camera were installed in Seoul and its suburbs.
