Fisheye camera

by Mark Rowe

The new Grundig Fisheye camera is based on Sony’s 6MP CMOS sensor. The camera, model number GCI-M0566F, has 360 degree panoramic and 180 degree viewing options in image resolutions of up to 6MP, 3072 x 2048p at 25 frames per second (FPS). It provides ultra-HD overview images of a site and is the German makes say suited to retail uses.

Grundig has included six IR LEDs in the design, a unique feature of the camera which enables SMART night-time illumination. True day / night functionality, with 0.2 / 0.02Lux sensitivity, delivers low-light performance when infra-red illumination is overridden. The fisheye’s built-in de-warping presents corrected video streams to a network video recorder, or video management software. Further video stream options include 4MP at 25FPS or 2MP at 50FPS, with simultaneous quad video streams at lesser resolutions.

The product offers digital pan, tilt and zoom control in live and playback modes. This enables users to zoom into overview images in more detail, after an event. Site coverage is achieved with fewer cameras, according to the makers.

Five rectangular privacy zones can be configured and video enhancement features include wide dynamic range (WDR), digital noise reduction (DNR) and back light compensation (BLC).

A built-in SD/SDHC memory slot is compatible with 64GB cards enabling alarm and scheduled recording. PoE, ONVIF Profile S integration, bi-directional audio and webserver access for smartphones (iOS and Android) and tablets are standard.

This fisheye can be ceiling or wall mounted with flip, mirror, vertical and rotational settings for optimal site positioning. For more information on Grundig CCTV products contact +49 (0) 2191 374 9883 or visit www.grundig-security.com.
