Canon Europe at IFSEC

by Mark Rowe

Canon Europe will be showcasing its range of network security cameras, including its latest range of Full HD, ultra compact VB-S series cameras, at IFSEC International (stand F500, London ExCel, June 17 to 19). Visit: www.canon-europe.com.

The recently launched VB-S series of ultra-compact Full HD Network Cameras with built-in analytics joins the company’s existing M-series megapixel and H-series Full HD models. The new cameras are designed for indoor uses which require sensitive monitoring of specific areas or items. They are suitable the makers say for surveillance in retail, education and business.

Julian Rutland, Planning and Strategy Director, Canon Europe, said: “Not only does IFSEC International offer a great opportunity to showcase our latest network cameras, it also allows us to meet with and learn from the global security industry’s leading experts. The event provides an excellent platform for us to interact with potential and existing partners and system integrators so that we can better understand how our technologies can work together to address their customers’ issues.”

Partners NETAVIS, Nedap and Wavestore will be on the Canon stand. Nedap representatives will be available to explain its security management product and NETAVIS will be showcasing its retail business intelligence; both using Canon’s latest network cameras. Wavestore will be demonstrating Canon’s cameras when connected to its facial recognition system, alerting the user when pre-determined faces are detected.

Representatives from Canon customer the British Library will also be at the show to discuss how the library is working with Canon to protect its books and manuscripts with Full HD resolution CCTV.

Working demonstration areas at the event will highlight Canon’s propositions, including:

· Low light performance
· Wide angle of view
· Accurate colour reproduction
· Smart Shade Control (SSC)
· PTRZ remote camera configuration capability
· Inbuilt video analytics

Julian Rutland adds: “We’re proud to be able to showcase our range of network cameras, which benefit from Canon’s 70-year heritage in imaging technology. This is the sixth year that we’ve exhibited at IFSEC International and we’re looking forward to demonstrating the quality of our solutions which now offer system integrators and partners more complete and effective solutions than ever before.”
