Footwear for women

by Mark Rowe

The safety footwear company Rock Fall (UK) Ltd has launched a range of footwear designed for women’s feet, with a style to suit hazardous work sites.

Rock Fall (UK) has designed safety footwear shaped to female feet and in female sizes, providing better fit, comfort and ultimately, safety to women wearers.

Working with distributors from the safety supplies industry, Rock Fall (UK)’s Vixen range of footwear all have toecap and midsole protection to the EN ISO 20345:2011 standard. Using materials such as full grain leather, nubuck, and suede, they are lined with breathable moisture wicking fabrics, featuring a shock absorbing anti-fatigue foot-bed for comfort. The range features also a trainer specifically for the electronics industry, and a boot for working in the rail and construction sectors. A contemporary product is the ladies safety ballet pump, for supermarket and office workers.

The footwear styles – lace-up shoes, wedged court shoes, a modern style safety pump, lightweight, flexible boots and trainers – are all named after jewels.

Rock Fall (UK) Ltd Sales Director, Richard Noon, says: “Women are entering manufacturing, construction, engineering and other professions operating in hazardous environments at a higher rate than ever before and working closely with our clients we strive to ensure all our footwear is fit for purpose. Until now, women have had to wear boots in the nearest male size to their own. By launching the Vixen range, women can now wear safety footwear that complements the shape of their feet and in their own size. Wearing better fitting footwear ultimately means more comfort and most importantly, improved safety”.
