SIA briefing dates

by Mark Rowe

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is running short briefings around the UK in October and November for security business people.

The briefings will be used to explain the Government’s intention to introduce regulation that will require businesses operating in the private security industry to be licensed by the SIA. These events will provide representatives from security businesses with an outline of how business licensing will work, who has to be licensed, and what security businesses need to do and when they need to do it. This is an opportunity to find out the facts and ask questions.

The briefings are free to attend and run at:

• Stoke on Trent – 10 October 2013
• Belfast – 15 October 2013
• Edinburgh – 17 October 2013
• Leeds – 22 October 2013
• Cardiff – 24 October 2013
• Peterborough – 29 October 2013
• Cheltenham – 5 November 2013
• London – 14 November 2013

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, the regulator adds.
