SASMA Europe event

by Mark Rowe

The sixth Business Security Conference will be held in Warsaw on November 20 and 21, an event for the business security sector in central and eastern Europe. The conference is organised by Impel Security Polska, and SASMA, an international consulting and training company. The theme of this year’s meeting is a change in the perspective through which the issues related to security in business are perceived. Under the title “Change Your Business Perspective” international speakers representing politics and business will deliver lectures presenting the variety of corporate threats such as espionage, smuggling, cyber-attacks and attempts at destroying the company’s image and product brand name.

This year’s confirmed speakers include:

•Werner Cooreman, VP Security Europe at DHL Express
•Bernard Galea, Chief Security Officer at FM Logistics
•Don Randall, Chief Information Security Officer at the Bank of England
•Krzysztof Moszynski, System Solutions Director at Konsalnet Holding S.A
•Peter Davies, Chief Executive of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre
•Jerzy Wysocki – Chairman of the Auditing Committee at the All-Poland Association of Advisers on Public Procurement
•Marek Janke – Vice President of Impel Security Polska
•Bill Butler – Chief Executive of the Security Industry Authority (SIA)
•Marian Slimak – Director of the Security and Defence Department, PKP S.A
•Sebastian Michalkiewicz – Warsaw Polish Airports Security Director
•Audrius Šapola – Regional Head of Security Department, SEB Bank.

Last year, apart from being given the opportunity to attend the lectures of foreign guests from Deloitte, BAT, Tesco or Deutsche Telecom, the participants of the conference could discuss the topics related to economics, politics and business management at the time of global uncertainty with Adrian Kendry, NATO representative. Olesya Abramenko from Russia, representing Volvo, talked about how the automotive industry coped with omnipresent counterfeits and David Shore from Pfizer cautioned against counterfeited drugs posing threat to patients’ health and life.

The Business Security Conference, organised for six years now, presents an opportunity to make business contacts, exchange experience and start dialogue. An updated list of guests and the agenda are available on http://business-security-conference.pl.
