Mobile devices risk

by msecadm4921

The growing popularity of Bring Your Own Device schemes in businesses brings new security risks if employees fail to take responsibility for installing anti-virus software. To help companies get to grips with the problem, the information security awareness consultancy The Security Company has issued fresh advice on its website: http://www.thesecurityco.com

The Security Company’s Hannah Tufts says: “The responsibility to protect personally owned devices lies with the individual, who shouldn’t be fooled into thinking their employer’s BYOD (bring your own device) scheme will take care of virus protection. Smartphones and tablets are vulnerable to corrupt applications and SMS and MMS Trojans in addition to malicious links, software and rogue Wi-Fi hotspots.”
