Environmental crime seminar

Durham County Council, Mallard Consultancy and Vipa Uk Ltd are organising a free Flytipping/Environmental Crime Seminar on September 24, 9am to 1pm, in Durham. The aim – sharing best practice, with a legal update.

Seminar speakers will bring ideas on how Environmental Crime is being tackled and also give delegates the chance to view the latest Vipa enforcement equipment.

David Armstrong will bring provide a legal update on topical issues including:
· Scrap Metal Dealer Act,
· Proceeds of Crime,
· New Code – Powers of Entry,
· Changes in ASB legislation.

David Armstrong , is known to public sector agencies as “the Wig”, an adviser to Keep Britain Tidy and the Keep Britain Tidy Network, and regular consultant to Tidy Northern Ireland and Keep Wales Tidy. In other areas David won the first defining case on the scope of Part 1 EPA authorisations. He prosecuted the largest food / local authority prosecution to have been prosecuted in the jurisdiction and also trained the FSA’s Illegal Meat Task Force. He has regularly advised local authorities and police officers in many forms of regulation and enforcement.

The seminar is aimed at delegates from fields including local authority staff, authorised enforcement officers, the police, fire and rescue services and private land owners. To book a place email [email protected]
