Jon Lorimer of Thames Water, Phil Wood of Bucks New University, and Bill McGlennon, of Sellafield Sites are the latest to become CSyPs – Chartered Security Professionals.
Briefly, Jon Lorimer is a former RAF Police man; Phil Wood, pictured, is head of security besides an academic head of department, Security and Resilience. at the High Wycombe-based university; and Bill McGlennon is head of security at the west Cumbria nuclear power site.
About CSyP
Briefly, the Security Institute manages the register of CSyPs, for the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals. The Security Institute and ASIS UK are each eligible to receive applications to be admitted. To become a CSyP, you must have a good general awareness of security in the round (although you may be a specialist in one particular field), and be making a strategic contribution to your workplace, and prove that you are competent in five areas:
